Former Navy SEAL John McGuire Raises Over $165K in First Five Weeks

Richmond, VA – Today, former Navy SEAL and Republican candidate for Virginia’s 7th district, John McGuire, announced that he raised over $165,000 in the first five weeks of his campaign to close out the fourth quarter filing. McGuire announced his candidacy on November 16.  In those few short weeks, John McGuire has put up strong fundraising numbers and shown that he’s a top contender in the race.

“There’s no doubt that my story and message resonates with the people who hear it,” said McGuire, a Richmond area native and 21 year business owner of SEAL Team Physical Training, Inc. “In just five short weeks we’ve gained so much support from donors all across Central Virginia and beyond. There’s no doubt that people want a true conservative in office who will be a leader for this district and fully support the work of our current President. The 7th District deserves a leader who can bring people together, listen and uses teamwork to get things done.”

McGuire continued, “When I wanted to be a SEAL everyone told me I didn’t have a chance. When I ran for the Virginia House of Delegates everyone, including Republican leaders, told me I had no shot of winning. When I decided to run for Congress, some told me I had no place in this race. Throughout my life, people have always told me what I can’t do. As it turns out beating the odds only inspires me, as I served 10 years as a SEAL, won my House of Delegates seat by an overwhelming margin twice,  and now I’ve shown that I have the ability to raise the resources and win the Republican nomination and send Spanberger home this November.”

John McGuire is a current Delegate representing the 56th district of Virginia. A former Navy SEAL who served for 10 years, John is now the owner of a small fitness company called SEAL Team PT Inc. John and his wife Tracy live in Goochland County.  They have five children.
